Quickly finding songs in your library

The music library is organized like a record store. It shows you the artists, their albums, and all the songs you have. If you're looking for something specific, use the Search field.

Select the library in the source list, then click the Browse button in the upper-right corner of the iTunes window. Then type some text in the Search field. As you type, the display changes to match what you've entered.

If you want to see your library organized by genre, too, choose Preferences from the iTunes application menu, then turn on the Show Genre When Browsing option in the General tab.
